Women's Book Club
Our Women’s Book Club meets every 3rd Saturday from
10 AM - 1 PM at our current location, The Pentecostals of Stone Mountain, 6212 Memorial Dr., Stone Mountain, Georgia, 30087.
We began studying Christina Fox’s, Closer Than a Sister: How Union with Christ Helps Friendships to Flourish. Our first study covered chapter 1, “Made for Community” and 2, “United to Christ and One Another.” Some of the questions and matters joyfully discussed in our January meeting were:
•the meaning and significance of our union with Christ.
•what are the essential elements of community in general and of covenant community in particular?
•the Holy Trinity as the ultimate Source and Paradigm of community.
•the consequences of being made in the image of God.
•in what ways did the Fall of Adam and the Tower of Babel affect God’s community?
•how is the Lord God building his New Covenant Community?
•how are we strengthening or weakening God’s covenant community in our own local church?
We pray that the Lord will direct our efforts to glorify him by granting us a God-centered focus, a Christ-honoring perspective, and a Spirit-dependent disposition, throughout our studies.
Our next meeting is on Saturday, March 17. Please join us.
